One of the greatest player of Business Class, Malcolm Wong

8 Dec 2021 by Steve Montgomery

It is with great sadness that we learn of Malcolm Wong's passing this morning. Malcolm was unwell for a while before he passed away suddenly.

He was a valuable asset to table tennis at a local level in Wellington and to Table Tennis New Zealand for many years as an umpire and referee.

Several Business Class cups were also won by Malcolm and Ian. Whenever he played, he would never back down and always put up a fight.  His knowledge of each team and player was impressive. We will miss him greatly but never forget him.

Malcolm will be sorely missed by our TTW family and our thoughts and condolences to Malcolm's family and friends

Primary organiser

I'm the primary organiser/owner of the Business Class Competition. I started playing Table Tennis about eight years ago. I've carried the passion on throughout my game and help form this competition. I think this is probably best competition that Wellington has to offer in Table Tennis. For the most of the time, I run Sproutmedia a video production business with a primary focus on delivering high-quality video content.
