ACC-Te Rapa have claimed the title of champions for the first Business Class Table Tennis Waikato competition for 2018. The 6-week competition comprised of 12 different teams, including teams from ACC, Forlongs, Hamilton City Council, Wintec, Fonterra, Cambridge High School and the Waikato Regional Council.
The winning team comprised of Jatinder Singh, Steph Willis and Manoj Sharma. ACC Te Rapa ½ good ½ bad consistently defeated the other teams across the 6 week competition including a convincing win in the final over the strong Fornlongs Finance Team of Paul Kyle and Neil Rodger.
The bronze medal play-off was hotly contested with Waikato Regional Council coming out on top over Cambridge High PE lads.
Although the final week decided the medal winners and final team placings, throughout the competition there were many close games and matches, with a lot of 3-2 team scores indicating just how competitive the competition was. Although competitive, the competition was seen to be social and fun by all involved with many looking forward to subsequent competitions.
